‘Cheluvina Chilipili’ keli

Mickey J.Meyer is back !!! This time with ‘Cheluvina Chilipili’ , a remake of the Telugu flick ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ starring Varun Sandesh and young teen,Shweta Prasad. The songs were a huge hit cos of their lilting ,foot-tapping nature and now Kannada movie-goers/music-followers can enjoy the songs as well.

‘Nijaana naanena’ is sung  with unbelievably natural ease by the seasoned Sonu. A tune u wud applaud, a rendition u wud appreciate and instrumentals that wud arrest your ears.Very nice track. Mickey lives up to expectations with this one.

Shreya Ghoshal and Chetan Sosca sing ‘Sai Sai Chakora’ . A lively tempo and tune are the hallmarks of this. Shreya is at her zestful best. Chetan is laudable. Singers take on major part of the  responsibility of the song leaving instruments to complement them.And Mickey is known for never overdoing the sounds….no wonder his songs are mellifluous and the kind u wud want to hear over and again.

‘Kala Degula’ is next by Chetan again. This is sure to be a hit with all youngsters esp with the college newbies! It essentially captures the campus mood of a fresher and has a tune which compels you to either get into rhythmic mode or stop the song! Musically , a  true work of art and viewed any other way,still a total entertainer. Chetan could ve packed in more energy though.

Next is line is one of the most beautiful songs of this collection primarily for its sheer melody. ‘Yavudu enudu’ and yeah,Shreya was perhaps Mickey’s safest bet to pull it off well. She is perfect in tone and stress and there is no need to emphasise the other aspects of sur and taal which she is pretty much a pro at. Mickey ought to take a bow for this song.Splendid and mesmerizing are  words not suffiicient to describe it. The title lines of the song are its USP.8/10 for this treat.

Shankar Mahadevan brings us the penultimate  song ie ‘Ninna Prashnege’. Shankar is very good for solemn songs or songs that require  maturity. He does justice to this number. The composition has quite a few variations which perhaps will enhance its listenership by leaps and bounds. Lyrics deserve a round of applause.Effective and with a good message .Good one.

Finally it is ‘Confusion’ by Kailash Kher . It is a fast song in Kailash’s typical style which makes u feel the song is best sung the way it has been, however different it may seem! While the tune is average,the beats are catchy.

So that was ‘Cheluvina Chilipili’  given to us by Mickey J Meyer. Its a pleasure to have artistes like Mano and Mickey (is it something to do with the M factor??!! )  working for this industry and belting out such lovable songs. Thanks , kudos and a ‘Wah! Kya Baat hai!’ to them!
